What Is A Website Builder Anyhow?

Friday, April 30th, 2010

Gone are the days of spending hundreds for just a simple web site. You no longer need to hire a professional designer, or even buy any programs. While some website builder tools are definitely better than others, a free website builder can take care of just about anything you need.

You don’t even have to download a program either. Most web hosts today offer a free website builder online, which you can use to design almost any website right in your browser. Most of these free website builder tools are very intuitive and easy to use, made with the novice user in mind.

There is definitely a very wide array of free website builder tools available. Some can help you make Flash web sites, while others are designed to create e-commerce websites. However, most free website builders do not integrate all of these tools into one application. You may have to use many different applications in order to get the precise design you want.

Limitations of free website builders

Most free website builders only offer the ability to insert simple things into your website, such as images, tables, and links. While this will certainly suit the needs of most aspiring website owners, you may need to purchase a separate application in order to take care of your more robust needs, such as e-commerce, search engine optimization, and scripting.

In addition, free website builder tools usually generate clunky, slow loading websites. This is due to a multitude of factors, including a “maker’s mark” in the code, and an inability for the free website builder to use more efficient methods of creating the same effect, such as CSS or JavaScript.

Nevertheless, a free website builder will definitely create a website that serves its purpose – so long as that purpose is relatively simple. Don’t expect to create a big flashy website like those owned by major corporations. However, you can expect it to be easy, simple, and free.

Wish the owner of celeb gossip along with celeb photo there is an internet web page you may see based in this case.

5 Important Rules in Website Design

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

When it comes to your website, extra attention should be paid to every minute detail to make sure it performs optimally to serve its purpose. Here are seven rules of thumb to observe to make sure your website performs well.

1) Do not use splash pages

Splash pages are the first pages you see when you arrive at a website. They normally have a very beautiful image with words like “welcome” or “click here to enter”. In fact, they are just that — pretty vases with no real purpose. Never allow your site visitors to be in a situation that they have to click on the “back” button! Give them the value of your site up front without the splash page.

2) Do not use excessive banner advertisements

Even the least net savvy people have trained themselves to ignore banner advertisements so you will be wasting valuable website real estate. Instead, provide more valueable content and weave relevant affiliate links into your content, and let your visitors feel that they want to buy instead of being pushed to buy.

3) Have a simple and clear navigation

You have to provide a simple and very straightforward navigation menu so that even a young child will know how to use it. Do not use complicated Flash based menus or multi-tiered dropdown menus. If your visitors don’t know how to navigate, they will leave your site.

4) Have a clear indication of where the user is

When visitors are deeply engrossed in browsing your site, you will want to make sure they know which part of the site they are in at that moment. This way, your visitors will be able to browse relevant information or navigate to any section of the site easily. Don’t confuse your visitors because confusion means “abandon ship”!

5) Avoid using audio on your site

If your visitor is going to stay a long time at your site, reading your content, you will want to make sure they’re not annoyed by some audio looping on and on on your website. If you need audio, make sure they have some control over it — volume or muting controls would work fine.

Not built a website yet then I recommend you try 90 second website builder it’s the best website builder you can start with!
