Bear in mind though that although finalists in these shows become famous rapidly through television exposure, they were talented to begin with. Attending an audition for a television singing contest is by no means a guarantee of singing success. American Idol and its counterparts across the globe are highly competitive shows and the chances of standing out among the competitors is slim. Still the rewards are huge and proving for some to be well worth the effort.
